IBM, Spain's Basque Government Launch Quantum Computing Center

06:53 AM EDT, 10/14/2025 (MT Newswires) -- IBM ( IBM ) and the government of Spain's semi-autonomous Basque region said Tuesday that they have launched the IBM-Euskadi Quantum Computational Center in the city of San Sebastian.

The IBM Quantum System Two installation, two years in the works, is the second outside the US and powered by a 156-qubit IBM Quantum Heron processor, the organizations said.

IBM ( IBM ) and the Basque Government said they are also collaborating on the development of training programs for students and professionals in the scientific and technological fields.
