09:36 AM EDT, 03/21/2024 (MT Newswires) -- International Business Machines ( IBM ) has received a new, 10-year contract from the US Department of Defense to help secure the commercial supply chain for the production of advanced semiconductor technologies and services, the Pentagon said Wednesday.

The contract has a $576 million ceiling, with slightly more than $27 million appropriated for the federal government's fiscal 2024 for the first seven task orders, the Defense Department said.

Work will be performed at semiconductor fabrication facilities at multiple locations in Vermont, New York and Quebec, the government said.
