IBM’s artificial intelligence technology is helping the company with predicting workers who are planning to quit their jobs with a 95 percent accuracy, IBM chief executive officer (CEO) Ginni Rometty said at CNBC’s Work Talent + HR Summit in New York City.
The company’s HR has a patent for its “predictive attrition program” which was developed with Watson to predict employee flight risk and prescribe actions for managers to engage employees. The CEO did not let on the “secret ingredient” but added that the success of the technology comes through analysing many data points, which has saved the company nearly $300 million in retention costs.
The AI retention technology of IBM is part of a suite of products that are designed to upend the traditional approach to the HR management and has effectively reduced the size of its global human resources department by 30 percent, Rometty told CNBC.
“Rometty said being transparent with individual employees about their career path is an issue in which many companies still fail. And it is going to become more critical. I expect AI will change 100 percent of jobs in the next five to 10 years.” the IBM CEO said as reported by CNBC.
