Revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 30 was $2.73 billion, down from $2.79 billion a year earlier.

A single analyst surveyed by FactSet expected $2.04 billion.

Icahn's ( IEP ) stock was up 5.5% in recent Wednesday premarket activity.
