09:22 AM EDT, 03/25/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Illumina ( ILMN ) said Tuesday Scott Gottlieb has been elected non-executive chair of its board.

Gottlieb has been on the board since 2020, the biotechnology company said.

Illumina ( ILMN ) also said Corvex Management's Chief Investment Officer Keith Meister will join its board on Friday. The hedge fund holds a 2.5% stake in Illumina ( ILMN ), the Wall Street Journal reported citing people familiar with the matter.

Hologic ( HOLX ) CEO Stephen MacMillan, who had joined Illumina's ( ILMN ) board in June 2023, has decided to retire from the board in preparation for the company's upcoming annual meeting of stockholders, Illumina ( ILMN ) said.

ILMN shares were 1.5% higher ahead of Tuesday's opening bell.
