09:16 AM EDT, 07/29/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Imax ( IMAX ) said Monday that "Deadpool & Wolverine" notched its biggest opening weekend of any movie since 2022 with an Imax ( IMAX ) global debut of $36.5 million.

The company said the movie opened to $19.1 million in North America.

The film, produced by Walt Disney's ( DIS ) Marvel unit, was also Imax's ( IMAX ) biggest July opening ever and R-rated opening weekend ever, Imax ( IMAX ) said.
