Imax, Wanda Film Expand Partnership With Agreement on Technology, Content

11:16 AM EDT, 06/18/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Imax ( IMAX ) , Imax China and Wanda Film said Tuesday they are expanding their partnership with an agreement on technology and content.

Financial details of the agreement weren't disclosed.

Wanda Film will upgrade 61 of its locations to Imax ( IMAX ) with Laser technology and renew up to 37 current Imax ( IMAX ) locations for another five years. The Chinese cinema operator will also add up to 25 new Imax ( IMAX ) locations over the next three years, subject to mutual understanding, the companies said.

Imax ( IMAX ) and Wanda Pictures will also look into collaborating on content and experiences across documentaries, music, gaming and sports, the companies said.

Imax ( IMAX ) shares were up 4.9% in recent trading.
