Imperial Metals and Subsidiary Charged for Allegedly Violating Fisheries Act

06:15 AM EST, 12/10/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Imperial Metals ( IPMLF ) and its subsidiary Mount Polley Mining, along with engineering firm Wood Canada, have been charged with allegedly violating the federal Fisheries Act, according to a Monday news release.

The allegations stemmed from the failure of the tailings storage facility at the Mount Polley mine in August 2014.

The charges are outlined in an indictment filed with the Supreme Court of British Columbia on Dec. 6.
