06:48 AM EDT, 07/25/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Imperial Metals ( IPMLF ) on Wednesday reported a second-quarter 26% increase in copper production and 7% increase in gold production quarter-over-quarter from the Mount Polley and Red Chris mines in British Columbia.

The company produced 15.5 million pounds of copper and 13,768 ounces of gold in the second quarter.

The Mount Polley mine contributed 9.3 million pounds of copper and 10,009 ounces of gold, compared to 7.4 million pounds of copper and 10,009 ounces of gold in the first quarter.

Imperial's 30% share of Red Chris mine production contributed 6.2 million pounds of copper and 3,759 ounces of gold. On a 100% basis, the mine produced 20.7 million pounds of copper and 12,531 ounces of gold, compared to 16.7 million pounds of copper and 9,507 ounces of gold in the first quarter.

Imperial's share price lost 1.4% to $2.07 yesterday.
