Andy Jassy will take over as Amazon CEO in about six months. Here is a glimpse into the life and career of the man who will not only replace Jeff Bezos -- the richest man in the world -- as the leader of the world’s biggest e-commerce firm.

Born on January 13, 1968, Jassy is an alumnus of Harvard College and Harvard Business School. He served as the advertising manager of The Harvard Crimson during his graduation days.

He joined Amazon as a marketing manager in 1997 and founded Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 2003. Today, AWS annual revenues to the tune of $50 billion. In 2016, Jassy was promoted from senior vice president to CEO of AWS.

Jassy is married and is a father of of two.

Jassy, is a self-proclaimed "big sports/music/film fan", and an "experienced buffalo wings eater". He holds minority stake in the Seattle Kraken of the National Hockey League. His net worth as of November 2020 is estimated at $377 million.
