India has never seen a pro-farmer government, says Yogendra Yadav
Nov 26, 2018 2:22 PM

No government in the past has been pro- farmer and the current government and its policies have opposed the farmers on all fronts -- ideological, administrative, with disdain for farmers, said Yogendra Yadav, president, Swaraj India.

"For years and years, I would say for decades there was no all-India farmer's movement. Farmers are divided along regional lines, by crop, by class and it is very difficult to bring them together," Yadav said.

Yadav was speaking on the sidelines of the launch of his book 'Farmers Under Modi Raj: Double Income Or Double Jeopardy.

Yadav said the book was a compilation of various reports on farm activities and developments occurred in the past four-and-a-half years of the BJP government's rule.
