Indivior to Pay $86 Million in Multistate Opioid Settlement, New York Attorney General Says
Jul 26, 2024 12:50 PM

03:21 PM EDT, 07/26/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Indivior ( INDV ) agreed in principle to pay $86 million in a multistate opioid settlement, New York Attorney General Letitia James said Friday in a statement.

"Indivior ( INDV ) produced buprenorphine-based products to treat opioid use disorder, which can feed opioid addictions when abused and cause further harm," James said. The multistate coalition of attorneys general alleged "Indivior ( INDV ) inappropriately targeted its sales to dangerous prescribers" and "failed to monitor suspicious orders," the statement said.

Under the settlement, 16 states, including New York, California, Colorado and Delaware, will receive the funds over five years for opioid addiction treatment, recovery and prevention, James said.

Indivior ( INDV ) didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.

Shares of Indivior ( INDV ) fell 3.1% in recent Friday trading.
