08:31 AM EDT, 07/19/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Inspire Medical Systems ( INSP ) said Friday the European Union has approved CE marketing certification for patients with the implanted Inspire IV neurostimulator device, allowing full-body magenetic resonance imaging scans, under its Medical Device Regulation's Active Implantable Medical Device Directive.

The company said the device was previously only approved for MRI scans of the head, neck, and extremities.

The approval will apply to all devices implanted since 2018, Inspire added.
