10:06 AM EDT, 09/17/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Installed Building Products ( IBP ) said Tuesday that Advanced Fiber Technology has opened a second line at its manufacturing plant in Bucyrus, Ohio, to boost the production of its Carbon Smart loose-fill cellulose insulation.

The $5.5 million project includes a roughly $4.8 million investment in advanced technology, robotics and automation for the wastepaper conversion industry, the company said.

The Carbon Smart insulation product is made from mainly recycled newsprint and cardboard, the company said.

Shares of Installed Building Products ( IBP ) were up 3% in recent trading.
