Inszone Insurance Services Acquires Historic Mena Insurance Agency, Expanding Presence in Arkansas
Apr 30, 2026 11:10 AM

SACRAMENTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Inszone Insurance Services, a rapidly growing national provider of commercial, personal, and benefits insurance, is pleased to announce the acquisition of Mena Insurance Agency, Inc., commonly known as Mena Insurance. This strategic acquisition brings a century-old institution and a highly efficient, deeply experienced team into the Inszone organization, further expanding its footprint in Arkansas.

Founded in 1911 by H.G. McLafferty, Mena Insurance has been a cornerstone of the local community for over a century. Now led by its fourth owner, P.T. Plunkett, the agency has built an extraordinary reputation as the "face of insurance" in Polk County. Operating as a true one-stop shop, their portfolio boasts a strong mix of commercial, personal, and benefits coverage.

Incredibly, Mena Insurance has achieved its substantial growth entirely through organic word-of-mouth and community referrals—never relying on traditional advertising or even a website. Mena Insurance’s reputation and success are driven by a highly dedicated seven-person team that boasts over 150 years of combined licensed experience, including veteran employees who have been with the agency for 40+ years.

“We have always said that we are an insurance agency, but first and foremost, we are in the relationship business,” said P.T. Plunkett, owner of Mena Insurance. “When looking at the future of the industry and planning our next steps, we saw many colleagues making similar moves. Inszone was the clear winner for us. We wanted a partner that shared our service-oriented values and emphasis on community, rather than a rigid corporate environment. After growing purely through word-of-mouth since 1911, we are incredibly excited to finally tap into the resources and digital presence that Inszone provides.”

“Mena Insurance has built an extraordinary legacy over the past century, becoming the absolute go-to agency in their region,” said Chris Walters, CEO of Inszone Insurance Services. “P.T. and his team operate with a 24/7 dedication to their clients, doing the volume of an agency twice their size. We are honored to bring their 150 years of combined experience into our organization and look forward to providing them with the expanded resources they need to continue their outstanding work.”
