08:21 AM EDT, 10/16/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Intel ( INTC ) has allegedly "constantly harmed" China's national security and interests, and the products it sells in the country should undergo security review, the Cybersecurity Association of China said, according to multiple news reports Wednesday.

The industry group warned that Intel ( INTC ) chips, including Xeon processors used for artificial intelligence tasks, carry cybersecurity risks, the reports said. Intel ( INTC ) "has major defects when it comes to product quality, security management," Reuters reported, citing the group's post.

Intel ( INTC ) did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
