Intel Says Customers Interested in Test Chips Using 14A Process Technology
May 25, 2025 9:05 PM

01:49 PM EDT, 04/29/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Intel ( INTC ) said Tuesday that multiple customers have expressed interest in building test chips using its upcoming Intel ( INTC ) 14A process node, the successor to Intel ( INTC ) 18A, at the Intel Foundry Direct Connect event.

The company said Intel ( INTC ) 14A will feature PowerDirect direct contact power delivery, expanding on the PowerVia backside power delivery used in Intel ( INTC ) 18A. Intel ( INTC ) 18A is now in risk production and is expected to enter volume manufacturing in 2025.

Intel ( INTC ) also introduced Intel ( INTC ) 18A-P, a new variant designed to deliver enhanced performance. Early wafers based on the 18A-P are already in the fab, and because it is design rule-compatible with Intel ( INTC ) 18A, intellectual property and electronic design automation partners have begun updating their offerings accordingly.
