12:16 PM EST, 02/11/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Intel ( INTC ) shares rose nearly 8% in recent trading Tuesday after US Vice President JD Vance said that the "most powerful" artificial intelligence systems will be built in the US.

"The United States of America is the leader in AI, and our administration plans to keep it that way," Vance said at the AI Action Summit in Paris. "To safeguard America's advantage, the Trump administration will ensure that the most powerful AI systems are built in the US with American designed and manufactured chips."

Vance also said that the administration will make every effort for the regulatory framework around AI to be favorable for its growth in the US.
