09:44 AM EST, 01/29/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Intercontinental Exchange ( ICE ) said Thursday open interest in January was up about 20% from a year earlier, including record global futures open interest of over 114 million contracts on Jan. 26.

Global commodities open interest was up 8%, while energy open interest was up 8% year-over-year, the company said.

Oil open interest was 17% higher, while brent open interest increased 27% from a year earlier, Intercontinental Exchange ( ICE ) said.
