08:12 AM EDT, 07/09/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Intercontinental Exchange ( ICE ) reported Wednesday its markets saw 1.2 billion futures and options contracts traded in H1, a 24% increase compared with a year earlier.
The company said the average daily volume was 10 million contracts, of which 6 million were commodities.
ICE reported a record energy trading volume of 673.4 million futures and options contracts, including all-time highs in oil trading with 400.8 million contracts, natural gas with 250.8 million, and environmental products at 10.6 million.
Financial markets also saw strong performance, with 512 million interest rate futures and options contracts traded, the company said
It added that interest rate products comprised 461.9 million contracts.
