03:36 AM EST, 02/03/2025 (MT Newswires) -- InterDigital (IDCC) said Monday it has filed patent infringement lawsuits against Walt Disney ( DIS ) , accusing it of using the company's video streaming technologies without authorization.

The company said it has initiated cases against the media giant at courts in California, Brazil and Germany.

InterDigital Chief Legal Officer Josh Schmidt said Disney ( DIS ) uses its video technologies "to efficiently stream content and enhance the user experience."

"We always prefer to sign license agreements through amicable negotiation, but we are committed to receiving fair compensation for our groundbreaking research," he said.

Disney ( DIS ) did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
