International Business Machines Opens 1st Quantum Data Center Outside US in Germany

09:47 AM EDT, 10/01/2024 (MT Newswires) -- International Business Machines ( IBM ) said Tuesday it opened a quantum data center in Germany, the first one located outside of the US and the company's second in the world.

The center, now online in Ehningen, Germany, includes two new utility-scale, IBM Quantum Eagle-based systems and will soon have a new IBM Quantum Heron-based system, the company said.

The systems can perform computations beyond the brute-force simulation capabilities of classical computers, IBM ( IBM ) said.
