08:40 AM EDT, 03/20/2026 (MT Newswires) -- International Paper ( IP ) said Friday it plans to build a new sustainable packaging facility in Rankin County, Mississippi, with an investment of about $225 million.

The company said the 468,000-square-foot greenfield facility will be constructed on an 80-acre site in Brandon, near its existing Richland box plant.

Construction is expected to begin in June, with operations expected to begin in Q4 of 2027, and employees from the Richland facility will transition to the new plant upon completion, International Paper ( IP ) said.
