04:37 PM EDT, 09/04/2025 (MT Newswires) -- International Tower Hill Mines ( THM ) after trade Thursday released "encouraging" results from the first phase of its metallurgical study, which was initially announced on March 4, 2025, and focused on antimony mineralization at the Livengood Gold Project.
Since the announcement, the company prepared four composite samples from individual veins and sent them to Advanced Mineral Technology Laboratory in London, Ontario, for antimony deportment work.
The company said results for all samples indicate that the antimony is carried by stibnite, that most of the stibnite is of a floatable size (above 10 micron), that the liberation of stibnite is very good at the grind size of p80 250 micron, and thus "the samples have the potential to respond well to flotation".
The company said it will move into the next phase of analysis to evaluate potential flowsheets, how the samples respond to flotation, and what the characteristics of any concentrate obtained might be. This work will begin immediately at SGS facilities in Vancouver and Lakefield.
The company added that these findings are very preliminary and much more metallurgical testing and additional studies would be required before establishing the recoverability of the antimony, as well as before developing any economic analysis or estimates of tonnage, grade, or resource.
Its shares lost near 9% in both Canada and US regular trade today.
