09:47 AM EDT, 10/08/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Intuitive Surgical ( ISRG ) said Wednesday that the US Food & Drug Administration has approved a new software release for the Ion lung biopsy system.

The FDA-approved updates improve navigation and broaden access to imaging for lung biopsies, the company said.

The Ion bronchoscopy platform has a catheter designed to navigate deep into the lung, the company said, adding it allows doctors to access nodules and position biopsy tools.
