08:17 AM EDT, 10/22/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Inventus Mining ( GNGXF ) , which jumped 50% yesterday, on Tuesday said William Fisher has been appointed chairman.

Fisher is a geologist with extensive industry experience including posts in Africa, Australia, Europe and Canada, the company said. He was a production geologist developing and mining paleoplacer diamond deposits in Angola and Guinea and served as a director of Rockwell Diamonds. He was CEO of Karmin Exploration, which discovered the Aripuana base metal massive sulphide deposits in Brazil.

The company also said that Wesley Whymark, a geoscientist with over 14 years of experience in mineral exploration, has been promoted to president and head of exploration, effective immediately.

Stefan Spears will remain as chief executive.
