08:16 AM EDT, 09/23/2025 (MT Newswires) -- IonQ ( IONQ ) said Tuesday it has demonstrated a prototype of photons' frequency conversion from visible wavelengths to interface with trapped barium ions, into telecom wavelengths.

The prototype supports the interconnection of quantum computers over long distances through the existing fiber optic infrastructure, the company said.

Shares of IonQ ( IONQ ) were up more than 3% in recent Tuesday premarket activity.
