10:39 AM EST, 11/17/2025 (MT Newswires) -- IonQ ( IONQ ) said Monday it agreed to acquire Skyloom Global, a US optical communications company that supplies laser-based terminals for satellite and ground data links. Terms weren't disclosed.

Skyloom has delivered almost 90 terminals for Space Development Agency missions, IonQ ( IONQ ) said. Skyloom chief executive officer Marc Eisenberg will join IonQ ( IONQ ) and report to Frank Backes, president of quantum infrastructure, after the deal closes.

IonQ ( IONQ ) said the acquisition will expand its quantum-secure communications and networking capabilities and follows its recent purchases of Qubitekk, Capella Space, Lightsynq and a majority stake in ID Quantique. The deal is expected to close after regulatory approvals.

Shares of IonQ ( IONQ ) were up 2.8% in recent Monday trading.
