05:41 PM EDT, 10/03/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Iridex ( IRIX ) said late Thursday that it appointed Patrick Mercer as its chief executive officer and president, effective Oct. 1.

Mercer previously served as the company's chief operating officer and president.

David Bruce, the company's prior CEO is "transitioning" from the company, it said.

The company also appointed Scott Shuda as its executive chairman. Shuda previously served as chairman.
