Iridium Communications Wins US Department of Transportation Contract

07:47 AM EDT, 10/21/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Iridium Communications ( IRDM ) said Tuesday that it had won a contract from the US Department of Transportation to support a broad network deployment of positioning, navigation, and timing services.

Financial details of the contract were not disclosed.

The company said it is working with T-Mobile (TMUS) to launch live-site activations across the US and to perform user equipment exercises at its testing range.

T-Mobile will also increase its installation of Iridium receivers to 90 additional live 5G network sites through this contract, the company said.

Iridium Communications ( IRDM ) shares were up 5% in recent Tuesday premarket activity.
