Israel approves extra gas exports, Leviathan field to be expanded

JERUSALEM, June 26 (Reuters) - Israel on Wednesday

approved exporting more natural gas from its offshore fields,

and the partners in the huge Leviathan project in the eastern

Mediterranean said they planned to invest up to $500 million to

expand its capacity.

Israel's energy ministry said it gave the green light for

the export of an additional 118 billion cubic metres of natural

gas.
