02:34 PM EDT, 05/24/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Jacobs Solutions ( J ) said Friday it been has selected by the UK's National Nuclear Laboratory to help develop a new type of nuclear power plant for heavy industry.

The National Nuclear Laboratory is working with the Japan Atomic Energy Agency on a new reactor design for the UK market to produce high-temperature heat for industrial applications, and Jacobs will review the initial designs and delivery for this reactor, Jacobs said.

Financial details of the collaboration weren't disclosed.

Shares of Jacobs rose 1.1% in recent trading.
