Jenner & Block sues U.S. government following Trump executive order
Mar 28, 2025 6:16 AM

(Reuters) -The law firm Jenner & Block sued the U.S. government on Friday, after President Donald Trump issued an executive order suspending security clearances for its lawyers and restricting access to government buildings, officials and federal contracting work.

Jenner filed its complaint in the Washington, D.C. federal court. A copy of the complaint was not immediately available.

"Today, Jenner & Block filed a lawsuit to stop an unconstitutional executive order that has already been declared unlawful by a federal court. We expect to prevail quickly," the firm said in a statement.

A White House spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The lawsuit is the second against the Trump administration since the president issued a series of executive orders targeting major law firms.

A federal judge on March 12 temporarily blocked most of an executive order Trump issued against Perkins Coie, finding it likely violated the U.S. Constitution.

Perkins Coie said in its ongoing lawsuit against the administration that at least seven clients had quit working with the firm because of Trump's order.
