JioCinema partners with Disney India for dedicated contents

Reliance Jio's digital app, JioCinema on Thursday announced a partnership with Disney India to provide its users with stories ranging from Disney Classics, Pixar animation, movies from Marvel and Star Wars with international as well as local contents.

The app will host a Disney branded section on the home page with content spanning movies, animation, series and shorts, the company said in a statement.

The app also brings a character customisation option where fans can choose from their favourite Disney, Marvel, Pixar or Star Wars character such as Mickey Mouse, Captain America and Lightening McQueen.

JioCinema will now provide a wide range of contents starting from stories of The Jungle Book, The Lion King and popular tales of Disney princesses of Cindrella, SnowWhite and many more. It will also have other international contents such as Hannah Montana and movies like Descendents, the company said.

JioCinema is also playing host to over 50 movies that have been nominated for Academy Awards over the last 90 years. Animation movies such as Toy Story, Wall-E, Up and more have been included, the company added.

Disney content can be available through an exclusive Disney-Jio section on the homepage of JioCinema app.
