09:51 AM EDT, 08/05/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Joby Aviation ( JOBY ) and Japanese airline group ANA said Tuesday they are planning to create a joint venture and deploy over 100 of Joby's electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft in Japan.
The companies are planning a phased rollout of air taxis, starting in Tokyo, according to a joint statement.
ANA and Joby said they also aim to develop a network of vertiports, implement pilot training programs, provide aircraft maintenance support, and strengthen collaboration with the government and the private sector, including Joby investor Toyota Motor ( TM ) .
