Johnson Controls Unit Agrees to $750 Million Settlement in PFAS Lawsuit
Apr 12, 2024 8:36 AM

11:02 AM EDT, 04/12/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Johnson Controls ( JCI ) said Friday that its Tyco Fire Products unit has agreed to a $750 million settlement with a nationwide class of public water systems over alleged contamination from PFAS chemicals related to certain products made by the company.

The settlement releases these claims against Tyco, Chemguard, and other related corporate entities and its part of ongoing multi-district litigation in the US District Court for the District of South Carolina, the company said.

The move does not constitute an admission of liability or wrongdoing by Tyco or Chemguard, the company added.

The final settlement is tied to several procedural and legal steps, including approval by the district court, Johnson Controls ( JCI ) said.
