02:28 PM EDT, 09/11/2025 (MT Newswires) -- JPMorgan Chase ( JPM ) is facing calls for a congressional hearing from Banking Committee Democrats over the bank's "extended business relationship" with Jeffrey Epstein.
In a letter Thursday, Senator Elizabeth Warren, the ranking member of the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee, and nine other Democratic lawmakers urged Chairman Tim Scott to convene a hearing on Epstein's "use of the US financial system and gaps in the enforcement of federal laws against money laundering and other financial crimes."
The letter said JPMorgan ( JPM ) reportedly maintained at least 134 accounts and processed more than $1 billion in transactions for Epstein, despite internal warnings.
"The committee should call employees of financial institutions that worked with Mr. Epstein, including JPMorgan ( JPM ) Chief Executive Officer Jamie Dimon, to testify under oath about the extent to which their banks may have enabled Mr. Epstein's crimes," the letter said.
JPMorgan Chase ( JPM ) didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires
