11:48 AM EDT, 03/14/2024 (MT Newswires) -- JPMorgan Chase ( JPM ) has been fined $250 million by the Comptroller of the Currency related to deficiencies in the company's trade surveillance program, the regulator said Thursday.
The OCC said the bank "failed to surveil billions of instances" of trading activity on at least 30 trading venues globally. "These gaps and deficiencies in JPMC's trade surveillance program constitute unsafe or unsound banking practices," the regulator said.
The OCC also ordered the company to improve its trade surveillance program.
JPMorgan ( JPM ) didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
The company's shares were down 1.1% in recent trading.
