07:51 PM EDT, 08/13/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The Kennedy Center's board of trustees voted Thursday to inscribe President Donald Trump's name on the building's facade, CNBC reported Thursday.
The board approved changes so the facade would read "The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Restored and Renovated By President Donald J. Trump," and voted to rename the site outside the building "the President Donald J. Trump Plaza," according to the report.
The board also voted to close most of the facility for two years for renovations, the report said.
Rep. Joyce Beatty, D-Ohio, whose lawsuit led to a May federal court order requiring Trump's name be removed from the center, called the new vote an effort to circumvent that ruling, CNBC reported.
