Generate Advisors will rebrand to Kennedy Lewis Loan Management LLC

Acquisition follows Kennedy Lewis’ initial investment in 2021, when it purchased a controlling stake in York Capital Management’s CLO platform and established Generate

Rizwan Akhter will continue to lead the rebranded CLO Platform as Managing Director, Head of Kennedy Lewis Loan Management

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Kennedy Lewis Investment Management LLC (“Kennedy Lewis”), an alternative investment manager with more than $31 billion in assets under management, announced Generate Advisors (“Generate”), a market leading CLO platform with more than $9 billion in AUM owned by Kennedy Lewis, is rebranding as Kennedy Lewis Loan Management LLC (“KLLM” or “the Platform”). This follows Kennedy Lewis acquiring the remaining equity in the business it had not previously owned from York Capital Management (“York”).

The establishment of KLLM follows Kennedy Lewis’ initial investment in 2021 when it purchased a majority ownership stake in York Capital Management’s CLO platform, establishing Generate, and committed substantial capital to fund the equity of its CLOs. Since then, the Platform has more than doubled its AUM and further cemented its position as a leading manager in the CLO industry, earning recognition as Creditflux’s CLO Manager of the Year in 2023 and finalist honors in both 2022 and 2024.

David K. Chene, Darren L. Richman and Doug Logigian, Managing Partners of Kennedy Lewis, said: “We are excited to take this next step with Rizwan and his world-class team and establish Kennedy Lewis Loan Management. We look forward to building on our strong momentum and continuing to apply the same disciplined credit analysis, risk management, and sourcing practices that have driven the Platform’s growth to date. We thank everyone at York for their strong collaboration and partnership, which has been instrumental to our shared success.”

Rizwan Akhter, who has led Generate since its founding, will continue to oversee the business as Managing Director and Head of Kennedy Lewis Loan Management. He will work closely with Kennedy Lewis leadership to scale the platform while maintaining its rigorous risk and underwriting standards.
