July 18 (Reuters) - U.S. energy firm Kinder Morgan's ( KMI )
Elba Island liquefied natural gas export plant in
Georgia was on track to take in a small amount of natural gas on
Friday, a sign it was on track to exit a two-day maintenance
outage, data from LSEG showed.
Data from the financial firm said the amount of gas flowing
to Elba was less than 0.1 billion cubic feet per day (bcfd) on
Friday, up from zero on Wednesday and Thursday. That compares
with an average of 0.4 bcfd over the prior seven days.
Officials at Kinder were not immediately available for
comment on Friday. On Thursday, Kinder said the drop in gas
flows was due to planned maintenance.
Elba is capable of turning about 0.4 bcfd of gas into LNG.
All of the LNG from Elba goes to British multinational oil
and gas firm Shell under a long-term contract.
One billion cubic feet of gas is enough to supply about 5
million U.S. homes for a day.
