08:40 AM EST, 11/19/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Kootenay Silver ( KOOYF ) released Wednesday assays from the first seven holes of the ongoing 50,000-meter drill program at the Columba silver project in Mexico.
The company said drilling identified porphyry style gold mineralization along the I vein. Highlights include 101 meters of 0.18 grams per tonne gold and 10 g/t silver, including 6 meters of 0.85 g/t gold and 11 g/t silver, in drill hole CDH-25-217.
"We are now seeing a gold mineralizing event with gold-moly porphyry characteristics," President and Chief Executive Officer James McDonald said. "The zone is strongly anomalous in gold and may indicate a different deposit type exists."
The company plans to conduct more drilling to assess the new target.
Kootenay's share price gained 3% on Tuesday to $1.37 on the TSX Venture Exchange.
