08:21 AM EDT, 08/13/2024 (MT Newswires) -- KP Tissue ( KPTSF ) on Tuesday reported lower second-quarter net income for its Kruger Products segment despite a 9.3% increase in revenue.
Kruger Products net income fell to $10.6 million from $14.5 million, driven by a higher foreign exchange loss and higher depreciation expense.
Revenue rose to $509.8 million from $466.3 million due to higher sales volume along with a favorable sales mix in the consumer segment and favorable selling prices.
Adjusted EBITDA rose to $65.3 million from $55.0 million.
"We are pleased with the strong momentum across all our business units, both in Canada and the U.S., despite a labor disruption at our Crabtree, Quebec facility that has since been resolved with a five-year collective bargaining agreement," KP Tissue ( KPTSF ) CEO Dino Bianco said.
The KPT segment had net income of $1.2 million, including $1.4 million that represents its share of Kruger Products' net income, a dilution gain of $100,000 and a depreciation expense of $300,000.
