10:02 AM EDT, 10/31/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Kratos Defense & Security Solutions (KTOS) and GE Aerospace (GE) said Friday they have completed altitude, durability, and limits testing on the GEK800 engine, which is designed for unmanned aerial systems and collaborative combat aircraft.
The engine was tested under an aggressive timeline beginning in late September. The test marked the first use of the newly expanded ZL9 facility at Purdue University's Zucrow Laboratories, the companies said.
The GEK800 program also received support from the Air Force Research Laboratory and the Office of Naval Research, the companies added.
Shares of Kratos were up 2.5% in early trading, while GE Aerospace slightly rose.
