12:58 PM EDT, 05/17/2024 (MT Newswires) -- KWESST Micro Systems ( KWE ) said Friday it won a contract along with partner CounterCrisis Tech (CCT) for a proof of concept project for an app to support emergency and disaster relief operations by the Canadian Red Cross.
The $100,000 project is expected to begin at the end of May and be completed by October.
The contract its the second time CCT and KWESST have partnered on development of an app, developing similar system for the Public Safety Canada in support of Ground Search And Rescue operations.
"We're pleased to again be teaming with CCT on a small but important pathfinding pilot, this time for Canada's premier disaster relief agency," chief executive Sean Homuth said in a release.
KWESST develops and commercializes next-generation tactical systems for military and security forces.
The company's shares were last seen C$0.05 to C$0.50 on the TSX Venture Exchange.
