09:40 AM EST, 11/24/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Kyivstar Group ( KYIV ) said Monday that SpaceX's Starlink Direct to Cell satellite service is available to its subscribers in Ukraine for testing.

The company said the service allows subscribers to send and receive text messages in places without mobile coverage using existing Android 4G phones.

Kyivstar ( KYIV ) said SMS is the initial feature due to the restricted bandwidth of satellite links, but expects to introduce limited data, voice and video functions in the next stage.

Shares of the company were up 8.3% in early Monday trading.
