L3Harris Technologies CEO Kubasik Calls on Incoming Trump Administration to Modernize National Defense Ecosystem
Jan 15, 2025 3:22 PM

05:46 PM EST, 01/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- L3Harris Technologies ( LHX ) Chief Executive Christopher Kubasik has written to the Department of Government Efficiency calling for the modernization of America's national defense ecosystem.

The letter to Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, the duo leading DOGE, calls for eliminating duplicative cost accounting standard requirements for all companies in the defense acquisition system.

In the open letter, Kubasik asked Musk and Ramaswamy to set up a central contracting arm within the office of the secretary of defense to manage joint procurement programs.

He further said that certified cost and pricing data should only be required for the largest sole-source acquisitions or the threshold for those that require such data should be significantly raised.

Finally, Kubasik called for limiting a contractor's ability to protest a contract award thrice a year at the maximum.
