09:00 AM EST, 01/12/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Largo (LGO.TO) said Monday that it has initiated geological studies to assess the continuity of copper mineralization at the Maracas Menchen complex in Brazil.
Largo said it is commencing the study amid high current copper prices and low prices for vanadium, the company's primary business.
The company said its internal tests, which were originally conducted to evaluate the recovery of platinum group metals, showed promising results, suggesting the potential for copper recovery as a byproduct during the processing of vanadium and titanium.
"The preliminary copper recovery results from the Maracas Menchen mine, developed internally, are encouraging and align with our strategy to recover as many byproducts as possible from our current operations to enhance the long-term competitiveness of our primary vanadium business," co-chief executive officer Alberto Arias said.
The study will be based on prior drilling and sampling data, as well as preliminary flotation recovery test results, Largo said.
Largo said it extended its promissory note with ARG International in principal amount of US$6 million until February 2027 under the same terms announced in August 2025.
