03:56 AM EDT, 10/14/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Leonardo DRS ( DRS ) and BlueHalo said Monday they conducted a live-fire demonstration of a new counter-drone Stryker combat vehicle designed to shoot down certain types of unmanned aircraft systems.

During a demonstration for US Army officials in New Mexico last month, prototype Strykers equipped with BlueHalo's 26-kilowatt Locust laser weapon system destroyed several drones, the company said.

The Strykers are also equipped with BlueHalo aerial drone surveillance and threat-detection tools.
