Libero Copper & Gold Reports Approval of Local Development Plan Backing Mocoa Project in Colombia
Jun 14, 2024 8:01 AM

10:30 AM EDT, 06/14/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Libero Copper & Gold ( LBCMF ) reported on Friday the approval of a local development plan that may benefit its Mocoa porphyry copper-molybdenum project in Colombia.

The four-year territorial development plan for the municipality of Mocoa includes a dedicated section on mining and energy, Libero said, adding that the plan supports the responsible and sustainable exploration and production of strategic minerals, specifically copper.

"Achieving this milestone of the approved development plan for Mocoa, including a section on mining and energy, is a testament to the inclusion of the community's needs, aspirations, and feedback shaping the final document," CEO Ian Harris said. "We look forward to continuing to work together to maximize the benefits of this project while ensuring environmental and social stewardship."
